The Dress

Cambridge dress by Sottero and Midgley bought in January 2023. The detail on the train of the dress is absolutely amazing with very detailed and intricate design.

The crepe fabric on the skirt is thick and good quality, meaning it’s not at all see through, even with full sunlight behind you.

Another bonus of the dress is the zipper, it’s simple and easy to fasten yourself (making for easy and unassisted bathroom breaks!) and then is completely hidden by a flap of lace detailing with a clear press stud.

The dress is in great condition and has been dry cleaned. The only flaws are a few minor thread pulls on the inside of the skirt where my beaded shoes caught on it a few times. These are barely noticeable.

I have blonde hair and fair skin with blue eyes. I found the ivory shade of the dress and the nude lining was more flattering on me than some of the pure white options I tried on.

The dress was comfortable to wear all day and through the evening.

Alterations

Minor hemming work done to adjust length. I am 173cm tall and wore shoes that had a 5cm heel. The dress just touches the ground, making it easy and comfortable to walk in.
There has been inbuilt bra cups added into the dress. There has also been a bustle added to assist in holding up the train. The bustle is a small Pearl button within the lace detailing and a small loop on the bottom of the train. It’s more of less invisible unless you know where to look.
