The Dress
This dress, from Austin Scarlett's Fall 2016 line, was a joy to wear on my wedding day. It was so comfortable - it showed off my figure but was still elegant, classy, and easy to move and dance in. The quality of the materials are beyond compare - the Silk Satin Organza looked especially rich and lustrous in photos (images #1 and #4 here are from my wedding).
The asymmetrical neckline is simple but striking - I received many comments about how elegant and classic a style it was. The easily detachable"petal train" (that's what Scarlett calls it) added drama to the simple silhouette of the dress for the ceremony. I then removed it for the rest of the evening for ease of movement.
I believe in passing things on when you no longer need them, and would be thrilled to know this dress went on to make someone else's wedding day as beautiful as mine was.
I am happy to send you additional photos of the dress through Simply White's messaging. If you reach out with any questions I will try to respond ASAP (but I'm in grad school so things get a little crazy sometimes!).
This dress was originally sold for $6000.00 plus an additional $700.00 for the detachable train. I had the dress altered by one of NYC's best bridal tailors to fit my size 2 frame. My measurements are 33"-26"-38". Scarlett recommends you size up 2 sizes from your normal retail size to bridal sizing (so a size 2 would take a size 6, etc.). Basic bra cups were also added to eliminate the need to wear a bra or bustier under the dress. These could be kept or removed based on your needs.
I also had the tailors create a rhinestone belt which I am happy to include. The rhinestone trim was sourced by me from a premium embellishments supplier in NYC's garment district. I also had them add the same rhinestone trim to the train. However, it could easily be removed to recreate the original Austin Scarlett look pictured in the first two photographs.
I would like to stress that tailoring I had done was of the highest quality and did not alter the line or the silhouette of the dress. If you are a similar size to me, it could actually save you time and money! However, I am asking only $2000 due to this tailoring.
