The Dress

This is a stunning strapless ivory satin wedding dress that has been professionally dry-cleaned and is in as-new condition. This dress made a sophisticated and timeless statement at my contemporary country wedding, but would also stand out against a city backdrop. The bodice is detailed with understated ruching, which accentuates the waist without taking away from the overall impression of the dress. It has satin buttons down the back of the skirt, and its long, full A-line skirt produces beautiful and dramatic wedding photos that contrast with the surrounds/landscape. The dress itself is not too heavy, and I found it comfortable to stand and sit throughout the day without any problems.

I am a 5'7, AU size 10 top (with B cups), and size 12 in bottoms, with fairly broad shoulders, narrower waist and broad hips. However, the generous A-line skirt, breast cups and flexible bodice meant that it would quite easily fit different shapes with minimal tailoring.

Bonus: This dress has inbuilt pockets buried in the A-line skirt. These are not visible to the naked eye, but allow you to carry lipgloss, mints, phone and other little bits and pieces on you without which means you don’t need to rely on being close to a bag or bridesmaid all night! These were a lifesaver for me!

I am a size AU10-12 (12 in pants/hips, 10 in the top/waist) and had it altered slightly at the waist and hips so it sat better, but still had a bit of give so you could still breathe, eat, drink. I had another satin button put in on the waistline to allow you to hook the end of the skirt up so that it's easier to dance etc. Please note that if you are looking at the Allure 8919 on the website, that I also had the detachable bow removed.
