The Dress

If you're looking for a dress that is classic but has unique and interesting details, this is the dress. This is a Bliss by Monique Lhuillier dress with a beautiful sweetheart neckline and low back. The lace covers the entire bodice of the dress and instead of a small, tight pattern, has large and small varied flowers. The skirt of the dress is categorized as "fit and flare" with many asymmetrical horsetail layers and spots of flowered lace on the tulle that make for a unique and interesting train. The train is truly the star of the show and looks great in photos.

I paired this dress with a long flowered veil for a dramatic look. A photo of how the dress was originally styled in magazines is also included for more inspiration.

My wedding was in southern California, outdoors during the summer, and it was the perfect dress for an elegant yet intimate and fun celebration.

Alterations

Bustier cups were put into the bust. The boning on the bodice of the dress was extended a bit further down into the body to add more structure. The waist and skirt were taken in, but the original fabric has been left in the dress so that you can fit it exactly to your body. I am typically a size 0 (sometimes 2) and XS in most stores and the sizing reflects bridal sizing, which is typically two sizes larger than your street size. There are already hooks sewed in for a bustle.
