The Dress

This gown came from Dina Alonzi, designer bridal boutique in Yorkville, Toronto and has been reduced in price for resale. Alvina Valenta 9400 is an off white, “Ivory French corded lace over blush charmeuse softly fluted bridal gown with plunging, jeweled front and back necklines and cap sleeves.

This jaw-dropping fit and flare gown was coined, of the “the 25 best” backline detailing. With its plunging V neckline, dramatic back, and jeweled straps, she is sure to make a statement! All-over lace and a classic chapel train complete this stunner.

Dina Alonzi’s team of professsionals customized this dress precisely to my liking. As seen in the photos of me on my special day, I had the plunging V neckline and back taken up and in approximately 2 inches. It was exactly the kind of “jaw dropping” statement I wanted it to be. A padded bra insert was sewn in so as to keep the girls up and in place.

For comfort, convenience and functionality, a “stay put” rubber band was sewn in to line the top of the dress from the V neckline along the back line. As a result, I was able to move about freely knowing that everything would stay perfectly in place.

Last but not least, a string was stratically sewn into the inside of the bottom, back of the dress. It’s purpose was to ensure the delicate lace train could be pulled in and neatly tied up. Of course, the bow tie on the inside of the back of my dress was untraceable and it created a beautiful layering effect. As a result, the train of my dress was safe and secure as was I.

So, $1300 of alterations and additions later, the grande total for this authentic, customized gown was approximately $4600 (plus tax). In my opinion, it was a steal and worth every penny! As per Dina Alonzi’s recommendation, I took the dress to a the best of the best to have it professionally cleaned, repaired (a few very minor tears in the lace) and preserved. Meaning, it was vacuum packed, neatly boxed up with special storage instructions to preserve its original condition forever. This final $800 investment into the dress is your assurance that it IS as good as new.

It would bring me great pleasure to pass this princess gown on to someone who can appreciate all the hard work that went into perfecting and preserving it.
